Hyatt Place and Westin will each develop properties in the new Jekyll Island Beach Village on Jekyll Island, Georgia.  Unveiled in 2010, the project will include hotels and the Jekyll Island Convention Center, a variety of restaurants, park space, and retail shops.

The new Hyatt Place will feature 135 rooms and will be located one block from the beach.  Construction is set to begin in early 2013, and is expected to be completed in approximately one year.

The Westin Jekyll Island will include 200 guest rooms and 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.  Construction on the hotel is also set to begin in early 2013, and is expected to take 16 to 18 months to complete.
