In the hotel’s common spaces, numerous amenities that make venturing out of the guest room a tempting choice were readily available, principal among them were power outlets. This seemingly mundane detail was on my mind since after a day of travel, my iPhone’s battery was on its last legs. Whether in one the hotel’s numerous restaurants, Texas-sized and built-for-comfort seating areas, or in one of the living-room like nooks spread throughout the property, power was readily available, even if took a second to realize that the silver square on the bar would pop up to reveal an outlet.

The large HDTV in the guest room had easily accessible connectors (including an HDMI connector) that would allow one to attach his or her own device. Display screens throughout the hotel, even in seemingly casual seating areas, provide the connectors as well.

Convention and meetings are a priority at the hotel; the wing to the left of the lobby is dedicated to meeting the needs of business travelers. Past the hotel’s gift shop, a full-service Starbucks, FedEx Office, and airline counter, the rotunda is the nerve center of three levels of meeting and event space.

Technology will also keep one from getting lost.  Interactive touch screens illustrate the route to a meeting room (all named after Texas Wild Flowers) and each area has patio space to profit from the sun. Doing business is not confined to meeting rooms, however, since just about every nook and cranny of the hotel can be used as one. The most notable spaces that can be transformed into a meeting room include a section of the
hotel’s Tequila Bar (with full A/V capability) and the High Velocity Sports Bar, which can be reserved for meetings and includes both a wall of TV’s, as well as what is reportedly Texas’ largest TV, a curved and flowing screen that spans the entire restaurant and which can easily be seen from the adjacent patio.
