Japan Airlines will launch its first JAL Sky Suite 777 on January 9, 2013. The aircraft will operate between Tokyo Narita and London Heathrow.

Beginning January 9, the airline will offer flights on alternate days between the two cities as JL401 and JL402, until the airline has completely retrofitted its second 777-300ER in February. When it does, the two JAL Sky Suite 777s will operate daily flights on the routes.

The two JAL Sky Suite 777s will be the first of 13 such aircraft for Japan Airlines. As the airline refurbishes it 777-300ER fleet, it will progressively introduce the aircraft on other long-haul routes, including Tokyo Narita-JFK, as well as other European services.

The JAL Sky Suite 777s were unveiled on September 13, 2012. They include seats in all four cabins that have been significantly enhanced in terms of space, comfort, and functionality.
