Norton Secures Public Wi-Fi with Hotspot Privacy Tool
Norton by Symantec announced Norton Hotspot Privacy. The new service from the Internet security company provides travelers with protection when using public Wi-Fi hotspots by automatically creating a virtual private network (VPN) for the user.
The VPN service encrypts usernames, passwords, and other sensitive information, and makes the user appear invisible on the network. Once the client is downloaded, the VPN automatically configures the private connection.
The service supports unlimited bandwidth for up to five devices, and the client is available via the Norton Hotspot Privacy Web portal.
The service is available to Mac and PC users in the United States and United Kingdom.
