AT&T and Samsung Mobile announced the Samsung Galaxy Camera. The new device features 4G connectivity and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

The Galaxy Camera is a point and shoot with a 4.8” HD screen and a quad-core 1 GHz processor. It has a 21x optical zoom lens and 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor for shooting close-ups and under low light conditions.

The new camera also features Samsung’s content sharing capabilities that the company introduced with the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II smartphones. They include AllShare Play, which enables remote access of camera files via other supported device over Wi-Fi; Share Shot, a feature that allows users to automatically send images to other supported Samsung devices; and Buddy Photo Share, which automatically tags the faces of existing contacts when they appear in photos.

Specific pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.
