Novatel announced the newest version of its mobile hotspot offering, the Mi-Fi 2. The device has added a 2.8″ touchscreen, making it the first touchscreen-based mobile hotspot on the market.

The new touchscreen allows customers to view data usage, connect up to 10 Wi-Fi devices, change network and device settings, and manage connected devices. The mobile hotspot has a battery life of up to 11 hours of continuous use, and provides connectivity in over 200 countries. Customers who purchase a microSD card (sold separately) can store, share, and access files and media from connected Wi-Fi or DLNA capable devices.

AT&T has announced that it will be the exclusive U.S. carrier of the new Mi-Fi 2, under the name Mi-Fi Liberate, which will run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network.

Specific pricing and availability details for the Mi-Fi Liberate has not yet been announced.
