Delta Adds Charging Stations at 13 Airports

Delta Airlines has added boarding gate charging stations to boarding gate areas at 13 new airports. The charging stations allow passengers to charge personal electronic devices prior to flights. Delta already has such stations installed in the airline’s 20 busiest hubs that include Atlanta, Boston, Los Angles, New York JFK and LaGuardia, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and St. Louis.

The new charging station locations include the company’s first international location at Tokyo Narita International, as well as at least two power stations per gate in Anchorage, Alaska; Austin, Texas; Denver; Dallas/Ft. Worth; Houston Intercontinental; Kansas City, Missouri.; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; New Orleans; Ontario, California; Philadelphia; Phoenix; and Syracuse, New York.

Each station features six standard U.S. 110 volt outlets as well as two powered USB ports. The charging stations are part of a $3 billion investment to improve global services, products, and airport facilities through 2013. Other improvements have included expansion of Wi-Fi services on international flights, updates to Sky Clubs, and upgraded seating and entertainment options on all flights.
