Hyatt Place Waikiki BeachHyatt has announced a new menu, “For Kids By Kids”, which offers nutritious, fresh dining option for children. The menu was developed with Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA). Hyatt is also offering a three-course organic meal for children designed by chef Alice Waters.

As its name suggests, the “For Kids By Kids” menu was developed with input from children, who sampled and approved the food. The menu items also include novelties such as customized pasta dishes and hands-on activities such as shaking their own salads. The new menu includes fruits or vegetables as the default side dish, and offers low-fat milk with free refills.

New menu items include breakfast tacos, mini-sub sandwiches, and grilled beef and potatoes. The “For Kids By Kids” menu adheres to the most recent U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans, as well as MyPlate (the USDA’s nutrition guide) and PHA’s standards.

Hyatt will now also allow children to order half portions of regular menu items for half the price.

Each year, Hyatt serves three million children in its hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.
