Lenovo Mobile Access Adds No-Contract Mobile Internet to Laptops
Lenovo announced Lenovo Mobile Access, a no-contract mobile broadband service that is embedded in select models of the company’s ThinkPad laptops.
ThinkPad Classic and ThinkPad Edge laptops with embedded 3G mobile broadband connectivity now ship with the new service pre-activated. Of particular interest to IT administrators, the mobile broadband service features web-based policy management for setting access options and permissions on individual, workgroup, or application level.
Lenovo Mobile Access allows users to buy a “Time Pass” that starts at $1.95 for 30 minutes and $8.95 for a full day. Monthly plans are also available for either 2GB or 6GB of data access. Currently, the service is available in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
