Atlanta International Airport to Open New International Terminal On May 16

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will open its new Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal on May 16. Construction began on the terminal in summer 2008.

The combined concourse will be connected to the existing international concourse and will offer 40 gates and eliminate the need for Atlanta-bound travelers to recheck their bags. The new terminal will feature 64 self-service check-in kiosks, as well as 80 ticketing counters.

Hartsfield-Jackson was the world’s busiest airport in 2011 in both passengers (92 million/252,000 a day) and flights (923,991).
