Marriott To Double Number of Caribbean/Latin American Hotels

Marriott International has announced that it plans to double its number of hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America by 2017. The chain’s expansion would add approximately 14,000 jobs in the region.

Marriott currently has 35 hotels under development in the Caribbean and Latin America, including the Ritz-Carlton Aruba, JW Marriott Cusco, and Port-au-Prince Marriott Hotel.

Marriott International currently has 69 hotels in 25 countries in the aforementioned region. Nine of Marriott’s 18 brands are located in this area, such as the Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance Hotels, and Courtyard.

The company also plans to double its number of hotels in Colombia, with new locations in Cartagena and Cali.
