Courtyard San Diego Downtown Hotel Opens
The Courtyard San Diego Downtown hotel has just opened in the city’s Gaslamp Quarter.
The hotel was once the San Diego Trust and Savings Bank, but has been renovated to offer 230 rooms and 15 suites. The building originally opened in 1928 as the city’s tallest office building, and featured a rooftop shooting gallery.
The hotel’s lobby features antique iron chandeliers, decorative columns, and a 32-foot ceiling. Meetings can now be held in the former bank’s vault, the Safe Deposit Meeting Room, which was also installed in 1928.
The Courtyard San Diego Downtown is a Marriott property.
