DOT to Allow U.S. Airlines to Temporarily Suspend Service to 75 Airports

The U.S. Department of Transportation said it would allow 15 U.S. airlines to temporarily halt service to 75 airports amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
United Airlines and Delta Air Lines were granted tentative approval to halt flights to 11 airports each, while JetBlue Airways, Alaska Airlines, and Frontier Airlines won approval to temporarily end service to five airports each.

Paine Field, a small international airport that serves the Seattle area, will temporarily suspend commercial flights, the airport’s operator, Propeller Airports, said Friday.
The move will allow the airport to accelerate planned maintenance and repairs that would have taken over four months to complete had the airfield remained open.  Passenger service will resume on August 1, 2020.

United Airlines Introduces ‘CleanPlus’ in Partnership with Clorox and the Cleveland Clinic

United Airlines announced it plans to introduce a program in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic and Clorox that will address aircraft and airport cleanliness and disinfection amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic.
