Southwest Airlines said it plans to add 12 new routes next February and March including new flights to Hawaii and Savannah.

Southwest Airlines said it would expand its route network by adding Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The airport serves the city of Sarasota, the county of the same name, and nearby Manatee country, and is operated by the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. Bradenton is the county seat of Manatee.

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines both announced financial results for the third quarter of 2020.
While both airlines lost billions of dollars, their reports showed slight improvement over the second quarter and were cause for cautious optimism even as the coronavirus pandemic shows no signs of releting.

Southwest Airlines Calls for Staff to Take 10% Pay Cuts to Avoid Furloughs in 2021
Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly said Monday that, in order to avoid any furloughs amidst the coronavirus pandemic, all employees will need to take 10% pay cuts in 2021.
The Dallas-based airline hasn’t furloughed or laid off any workers during the crisis. It said the 10% reduction for non-union employees will go into effect January 1.
