Virgin America Expands Service to Palm Springs

Virgin America has announced that it will expand its service to Palm Springs from both San Francisco and New York. The airline’s new seasonal flight schedule includes a new weekly Saturday flight, as well as the first, nonstop flight from New York City to Palm Springs.

Fairmont San Francisco Sold, Renovations Planned

The Fairmont San Francisco was sold earlier this week for nearly $200 million. The hotel was purchased by a group that included an affiliate of Oaktree Capital Management LP and Michael Rosenfeld and his Woodridge Capital Partners LLC. Fairmont will continue to manage the property.
The new owners plan a $20 million renovation for the hotel, which will include new carpets, bedding, upholstery, and painting. All 591 rooms will be renovated …

Virgin America has announced that, starting June 5,  it will begin daily service to Portland International Airport with two-non-stops daily flights from Los Angeles International Airport and one non-stop daily from San Francisco International Airport.  Portland will be Virgin America’s eighteenth destination.

United Airlines announced it will begin service between Washington, D.C.’s Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) starting on May 15.
