Qatar Airways Inaugurates Atlanta-Doha Service

Qatar Airways announced the launch of new daily, non-stop service between Atlanta and Doha.
The airline will operate the service using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, although it operated its inaugural flight with an Airbus A380. The Doha-based carrier filled 517 seats on the first flight, the capacity for the plane.

Qatar Airways Raises Stake in British Airways Parent IAG

Qatar Airways increased its stake in International Airlines Group, the owner of British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus for the second time in three weeks.
The move closely follows Qatar’s announcement last month that it held almost 12% of the company and brings its total holdings to 15.01%. Qatar initially acquired 9.99% in January 2015.

Qatar Airways to Begin Airbus A350 Service to Philadelphia in 2016

Qatar Airways announced that it will become the first carrier to fly the Airbus A350 to the United States. The carrier’s A350 ferry flight is scheduled to land at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 2 p.m. local time.
