JetBlue Announces New Anchorage-Seattle, New York-Albuquerque Routes

JetBlue announced that it will offer daily nonstop service between Anchorage and Seattle, and New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The Anchorage-Seattle route will begin on April 22, 2013, while the New York-Albuquerque service is set to start on May 16, 2013.

Delta Completes 747-400 Fleet Lie-Flat Seat Upgrade

Delta has finished installing lie-flat seats in the BusinessElite cabin of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft.  Each of the airline’s 16 747s is configured with 48 BusinessElite seats.  They are arranged in a 1-1 confirguration in the forward cabin of the aircraft as well as on the upper deck, and in a 1-2-1 configuration in the second BusinessElite cabin.

LOT Takes Delivery of First Boeing 787 Dreamliner

LOT Polish Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The carrier is the first European airline to take delivery of the new aircraft.

Virgin America Announces Interline Agreement with Air China

Virgin America and Air China have signed an interline agreement.  The new agreement will allow customers to travel on both airlines’ networks across their North American and Asian routes.  

When travelers book a single ticket with Air China, they will be able to connect from a Virgin America city to Beijing, through San Francisco International Airport, JFK, or LAX.  The airlines will transfer baggage between connecting flights to customers’final destinations.

While New York City and Long Island first embraced 1970s-style gas rationing last Friday, the neighboring state of New Jersey, which started rationing a week earlier, announced plans to discontinue it.
