MUNICH—Lufthansa and Munich Airport announced the deployment of Josie Pepper, a humanoid robot that can interact with passengers who have questions.
The robot, powered by IBM Watson, an artificial intelligence platform used by and for business. The robot was developed by the French company SoftBank Robotics and was christened “Josie” by Munich Airport and Lufthansa staff members, after the airport’s official name, Munich Airport Franz Josef Strauss.
