Marriott announced the opening of a new JW Marriott hotel in Austin, Texas.  The JW Marriott Austin is the largest JW Marriott in North America, and the second largest in the world.

Marriott to Acquire Delta Hotels in Canada

Marriott International announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Delta Hotels and Resorts, a Canadian hotelier.
The deal, valued at approximately $135 million, will give Marriott 38 new hotels and 10,000 additional rooms in 30 cities throughout Canada, making Marriott the largest full service hotel company in the country with more than 120 hotels and 27,000 rooms.

Marriott announced it will introduce its Moxy brand of hotels to the United States.  The brand was first launched in Italy last September.
The hotelier describes the brand as being “fun, edgy, and social, all with a youthful spirit.”

FCC Warns Hotels Not to Block Wi-Fi Hotspots

The Federal Communications Commission cautioned hotels and other commercial establishments on Tuesday about blocking signals from Wi-Fi hotspots being used by guests and others visiting a property.
