Joint Business Venture Between Finnair, BA, JAL to Begin April 1

Finnair, British Airways, and Japan Airlines announced that they will officially begin joint business venture flights on April 1.  The arrangement, which was approved by Japanese regulators last October, will allow the carriers to share revenue, as well as coordinate schedules and fares on flights between Europe and Japan.
Tickets for the joint business venture flights are now available for purchase.

ANA Net Profit Tumbles 36%

All Nippon Airways, Japan’s largest airline, announced financial results for the first three quarters of the 2013 fiscal year.  The airline reported net income of ¥33.31 billion, a 36.2% year-over-year decrease.  Operating revenue for this same period was ¥1.212  trillion, a 7.1% increase.

JAL Previews 2014 Flight Schedule, Adds London, Ho Chi Minh City, Doubles New York Flights

Japan Airlines announced a number of flight schedule changes that will take effect on March 30.  In addition, the carrier also announced that it will be changing the aircraft on various routes from both Tokyo Haneda and Narita.

Japan Airlines to Fly Dreamliner to Vancouver

Japan Airlines announced it will begin Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Vancouver, B.C. Canada on February 3.  The aircraft will be deployed on the carrier’s route between Vancouver International Airport and Tokyo Narita.
The aircraft will first be used on the route once weekly, on Mondays.  By March, the aircraft use will expand to all of the route’s daily flights.

All Nippon Airways announced that it expanded its international flight schedule for summer 2014 to include new and additional flights to Germany. The Japanese carrier will begin new service between Tokyo Haneda and Munich, and Tokyo Narita and Düsseldorf, as well as add an additional flight between Tokyo Haneda and Frankfurt, all on March 30 of next year.

Japan Airlines announced it will introduce JAL Sky Suite 777 on its Tokyo Narita-Frankfurt route next April.
The Boeing 777-300ER will have eight seats in first class, 49 seats in business class, 40 seats in Premium Economy, and either 135 or 154 seats in economy.

Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways Begin Codeshare

Japan Airlines announced the launch of a codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways.  Under the agreement, the two will codeshare on various flights between Japan and Qatar beginning December 3.
Japan Airlines will be able to place its code on Qatar Airways-operated flights between Tokyo Narita and Doha, as well as between Doha and Osaka Kansai.
