Typhoon Jebi hammered the Japanese west coast with winds of up to 135 mph (217 km/h) on Monday in what is being called the worst storm in 25 years.

American Airlines in conjunction with its joint-venture partner Japan Airlines announced plans to offer non-stop service between Las Vegas and Tokyo for the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show.

Millions Evacuated in Japan After Heavy Floods and Landslides Kill Dozens

Record rainfall continued to pound southwest Japan as officials pleaded with residents to leave their homes after flooding and landslides killed several dozen people.
“The record rainfalls in various parts of the country have caused rivers to burst their banks, and triggered large scale floods and landslides in several areas,” said Yoshihide Suda, the country’s chief cabinet secretary.
