Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways to Begin New Codeshare

Japan Airlines announced it will launch a new codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways on June 18.  Under the agreement, Japan Airlines will be allowed to place its code on Qatar Airways-operated flights between Tokyo Haneda and Doha.
The new codeshare flights depart Tokyo Haneda daily at 1:00 a.m. and arrive in Doha at 6:00 a.m.  Flights from Doha to Tokyo depart at 7:35 a.m. and arrive at 11:25 p.m.

Japan Airlines To Roll Out New Menu Items

Japan Airlines announced it will introduce new dishes for premium economy- and economy-class passengers on select flights between Tokyo and various North American and European destinations beginning June 1.
The new menu items will include Tapien, a pork and chicken soup with vermicelli made from mung beans and served with grilled rice balls, as well as custard cake for dessert.  The dishes will be offered as a second meal service.

United to Launch New San Francisco-Tokyo Haneda Service

United Airlines announced it will begin new daily, non-stop service between San Francisco and Tokyo Haneda on October 26.  The service will operate using Boeing 777 aircraft.
Flights will depart San Francisco International Airport at 6:35 p.m. and arrive at Tokyo Haneda at 10:05 p.m. the next day.  Flights from Tokyo to San Francisco will depart at 12:05 a.m. and arrive at 5:15 p.m. the previous day.

Japan Airlines Increases Codeshare Flights with Cathay, Malaysia Airlines, Jetstar

Japan Airlines announced it expanded its existing codeshare agreements with Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, and Jetstar Airways, an Australian carrier owned by Qantas Airways.  The expansion will, starting this month, allow Japan Airlines to place its code on various flights operated by the three carriers.

JAL to Launch Service Linking Tokyo with Milan, Rome

Japan Airlines announced that it will begin new charter service between Tokyo Haneda and both Milan and Rome, Italy this July.  Both new flights will operate through late September, using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

Japan Airlines and Bangkok Airways announced plans to increase the number of flights covered by their existing codeshare agreement.
Beginning May 7, Japan Airlines will be able to place its code on eight Bangkok Airways-operated flights between Bangkok and various destinations throughout Southeast Asia. JAL and Korean Air to Expand Codeshare Agreement

Japan Airlines and Korean Air announced they will increase the number of flights covered by their existing codeshare agreement on April 22.  The agreement will cover all flights between South Korea and Japan operated by Korean Air.
The two airlines first began their codeshare agreement in August 2004. The original agreement covered three routes, from Seoul to the cities of Komatsu, Niigata, and Sapporo, Japan.
