American Express to Offer Free Gogo Wi-Fi to Select Card Members

American Express announced plans to offer some of its card members free access to Gogo in-flight Internet starting next year.
The Gogo Preferred Program, which will only be available from American Express, will give holders of the company’s Business Platinum Card ten Gogo in-flight passes per calendar year.

Japan Airlines to Debut New 767-300 Sky Next Interiors

Japan Airlines announced it is rolling out completely new aircraft interiors and as well as in-flight Internet on its domestic fleet of Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.  The new interiors are also destined for domestic Boeing 777s and 737-800s.
The newly-configured Boeing 767-300ERs will begin to fly the Tokyo-Osaka route starting December 8, 2014.
JAL currently offers four daily flights between the two cities.

Hokkaido Air System announced that it has become a subsidiary of Japan Airlines, with JAL acquiring 51.2% of the shares in Hokkaido Air Systems.
The regional carrier was founded in 1997, and operates domestic service from its base in Hokkaido, Japan.  It currently has a fleet of three Saab 340B aircraft.

Japan Airlines announced it will be expanding its codeshare agreement with American Airlines this month.
Beginning October 26, Japan Airlines will place its code on American’s daily flights between Los Angeles and São Paulo.  The new codeshare is still subject to government approval.

Japan Airlines announced changes to its schedule for the second half of the fiscal year.  The airline plans to launch new flights as well as operate different aircraft on select routes.  The carrier also said it will introduce its JAL Sky Suite on various flights, and decrease the number of flights to several destinations from Tokyo Narita.

JAL Orders Embraer E-Jets and Mitsubishi MRJs

Japan Airlines announced orders for new aircraft from Embraer and Mitsubishi.  The carrier signed a purchase agreement for 15 Embraer E-Jets and a letter of intent for 32 Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) aircraft.
All of the new planes will be operated by J-Air, a wholly-owned regional airline subsidiary.
