Frankfurt Airport Reports Rise in May Traffic

Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, announced airport performance results for May 2014.
The airport’s passenger traffic for the month was 5.3 million passengers, a year-over-year increase of 3.7% from May 2013.
The number of aircraft movements in May also increased by 1% year-over-year, up to 42,366 takeoffs and landings.
The airport also reported a year-over-year increase of 6.9% in cargo tonnage, with 185,626 metric tons of cargo passing through the airport …

Lufthansa to Launch Munich-Miami Service

Lufthansa announced it will begin new service between Munich and Miami on December 2.  The service will operate five times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Flights will depart Munich Airport at 11:45 a.m. and arrive at Miami International Airport at 5:15 p.m.  Flights from Miami to Munich will depart at 6:55 p.m. and arrive at 10:25 a.m. the next day.

US Airways announced the launch of a new codeshare agreement with Air Berlin.  Under the agreement, both airlines are allowed to place their code on select transatlantic flights operated by the other carrier.
