Lufthansa and Flight Attendant Union Resume Negotiations, Strike Off Until October

German flag carrier Lufthansa and the union that represents the majority of the airline’s flight attendants, the Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO), have reentered talks after four separate strikes that left hundreds of thousands of travelers stranded across Germany in the last 10 days. Deutsche Lufthansa and the 18,000-member UFO have been embattled for over a year over pay and working conditions.

Lufthansa Flight Attendants to Strike Across Germany Friday, Hundreds of Flights Cancelled

Lufthansa’s main flight attendant union, the Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO), announced plans for a 24-hour strike on Friday, September 7. The strike will impact all 16 German airports served by Lufthansa.

Lufthansa Flight Attendants Plan Another Strike for Tuesday

Lufthansa is facing another round of strikes starting this coming Tuesday, September 4.  The Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO), the union that represents the majority of Lufthansa’s flight attendants, is planning to strike that day.  According to the Lufthansa website, details on the scope of the strike, including which airports and flights will be impacted, will be made public by the union only on very short notice.

Lufthansa’s flight attendant union, the Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO), is planning a series of strikes starting August 31.  In the event of a labor action, passengers flying on Lufthansa will face travel disruptions starting Friday and union leaders say these may persist for quite some time.
