U.S. Raises Covid Risk Warning for Travel to Germany and Switzerland

The United States placed Germany, Switzerland, and several other European countries into the high-risk category for contracting the coronavirus and told non-vaccinated individuals to stay away from these locations.
“Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to these destinations,” the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on its website. “Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to these destinations.”

The Biden administration activated the Civil Reserve Air Fleet to transport Afghan refugees to the United States.

Catastrophic flooding in Germany and Belgium on Thursday resulted in at least 117 deaths as streams, rivers, and streets turned into raging torrents that swept away all in their path, including houses.
