Swiss to Offer New Service to Oslo, Copenhagen, Bremen

Swiss International Airlines announced new year-round non-stop service linking Geneva to Oslo. In addition, the airline will expand its current seasonal winter service between Zürich and Bremen to year-round, and it will do the same for flights linking Geneva to Copenhagen and Stockholm.

American Airlines Adds Copenhangen, Nice, Naples to Route Map, Bringing Back Chicago-Venice Service

American Airlines announced a major expansion in its European operations Thursday morning.
The world’s largest carrier is adding flights to three new cities out of Philadelphia, namely Copenhagen, Nice, and Naples, and a new route linking Dallas and Barcelona.

The first of the new routes to operate will be Philadelphia-Nice, a city the airline termed “a gateway to the glitz and glam of the French Riviera.”

Vienna regained the title of the world’s most livable city after losing the spot last year amidst coronavirus restrictions.
The City of Music had held the title in 2018 and 2019 in the annual list that is compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Starwood Acquires Skt. Petri Hotel in Copenhagen

Starwood Capital Group announced the acquisition of the Skt. Petri Hotel in Copenhagen from Strawberry Forever.
The purchase price was not disclosed.  The property is Starwood’s first in Denmark.

Scandinavian low-cost carrier Norwegian Air said plans to discontinue multiple long-haul routes to the United States and Thailand next spring.

Norwegian Air will shift flights from Barcelona and Paris to the Bay Area from Oakland International Airport to San Francisco International Airport at the end of October.

Study Finds that CO2 Emissions in 27 Cities Have Declined Since 2012

CO2 emissions in 27 major cities have been declining by an average of 2% each year since 2012, according to a report by the C40 Cities Group.
The list of cities includes London, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Toronto and shows that greenhouse gas levels were a minimum of 10% higher in 2012, when CO2 emissions peaked, than in the most recent study. The drop occurred even while the cities’ …
