United Airlines Names JP Morgan Alum Michael Leskinen to succeed Gerry Laderman as CFO

United Airlines announced the appointment of Michael Leskinen to the position of chief financial officer.  He succeeds long-time company CFO Gerry Laderman, who earlier this year announced he would retire in September 2024 but exit the CFO role once a successor was appointed, while continuing to serve as executive vice president for finance for the remainder of his tenure.

United Airlines Resumes Flights After Computer Network Crash Brings Flying to a Halt

United Airlines resumed flights mid-afternoon Tuesday after the carrier was forced to ground all of its flights earlier in the day after it experienced a computer systems crash.
The problem was later determined to be due to a software update.
“Earlier today a software update caused a widespread slowdown in United’s technology systems,” United said in a message on social media.

Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings are in effect Wednesday for over 120 million Americans in 27 states, the National Weather Service said.
The heat alerts are in effect from California to Massachusetts.
