Amtrak Cancels Virtually All Train Service Outside of Northeast Corridor as Rail Strike Looms

Amtrak, the operator of most of the United States’ passenger rail services, said late Wednesday that it will cancel all passenger train service starting Thursday, with the exception of trains in the Northeast Corridor.

JetBlue Airways, which first announced plans to offer service from Boston to London in 2019, said it would delay the launch of the new service by several months.
The move was attributed to delays in the delivery of aircraft from Airbus that would be used on the route.

As many as 19 states could break or tie temperature records this weekend as a “large dome of heat” moves from the South to the East Coast and up into the Northeast, the National Weather service said.

United Airlines announced on Tuesday what it termed the largest expansion in its history.
The airline will launch or resume 30 transatlantic flights from mid-April through early June, adding new non-stop flights to the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and France as well as to Jordan, Norway, Portugal, and Spain.
