Alaska Airlines announced the start of its new non-stop service linking New York City and San Jose, California.
The Seattle-based airline will operate the new route using Airbus A320 aircraft. The planes are equipped with eight first-class recliner seats with 55” seat pitch, 12 premium economy light seats with 38” seat pitch, and 126 seats in coach.

Alaska Air Group announced operational results for May 2018. The carrier saw a rise in traffic and capacity, and a drop in load factor for the month.
System-wide traffic for Alaska Air Group, expressed in revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, increased by 7.4% year-over-year, up to 4.84 billion RPMs compared to 4.50 billion in May of 2017.

Alaska Airlines to Launch Non-Stop San Diego-Spokane Flights

Alaska Airlines said Thursday it will introduce new non-stop daily service linking San Diego, California, and Spokane, Washington.
The new service will be the only non-stop between the two cities and will commence operations on October 1.
“We’re excited to add another connection between the Pacific Northwest and California,” said John Kirby, the airline’s vice president of capacity planning.

Alaska Airlines parent Alaska Air Group broke ground Thursday on a new office building across the street from its corporate headquarters near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The 128,000-square-foot (11,891-square-meter) facility will house approximately 600 employees in departments that include technology and operations.  The building is being constructed on the site of the former Sandstone Inn, which the airline acquired in January for $32 million.
