British Airways Plans Return of A380 ‘SuperJumbo’ to Fleet

British Airways, which mothballed its Airbus A380 SuperJumbo airliners some 18 months ago amidst the coronavirus pandemic-induced decline in travel, will return five of them to service, according to internal documents viewed by Frequent Business Traveler.
The A380s will initially be used on short-haul routes from London’s Heathrow Airport to Frankfurt and Madrid starting November 8 in order to refamiliarize pilots with the aircraft.

Lufthansa to Restart Service to 20 Cities in June, Drop A380 Fleet from Frankfurt

Lufthansa said it plans to restore service to 20 additional locations next month, a company spokesman told Frequent Business Traveler on Sunday.  It also said it plans to discontinue Airbus A380 service from its Frankfurt hub.

The Air France-KLM Group announced it would send its fleet of Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft into early retirement.
