If you’ve recently stayed at InterContinental Toronto Centre and accidentally ended up in a back-of-the-house area, you may have noticed a group of housekeepers having an early-morning party.  Your eyes weren’t deceiving you but it wasn’t a party.  The hotel employs a unique method of preparing its employees for a day of work: dance.  Each morning, the housekeeping staff dances to Latin samba music to get themselves energized.

The New York Philharmonic announced The Art of the Score: Film Week at The Philharmonic, a series of film screenings with live orchestra accompaniments. The performances will take place between September 17 and 21.
The idea was conceived by Alec Baldwin, the orchestra’s radio host and board member.  The week’s events include a montage of scores from Alfred Hitchcock films and music from Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
