Hilton Hotels and Resorts announced that it added the Tailwater Lodge Altmar, located in Altmar in upstate New York, to its Tapestry Collection of hotels.

Hawaiian Airlines to Acquire Island Air’s Assets in Bankruptcy Proceedings

Five weeks after Hawaii’s Island Air ceased operations, the court appointed bankruptcy trustee announced that Hawaiian Airlines’ parent company plans to purchase the defunct airline’s operating certificate as well as other assets.
Hawaiian said it would acquire a variety of Island Air’s assets including its frequent-flyer membership list and ground-service equipment for $300,000. It plans to pay $450,000 for the operating certificate.

Air Canada announced the launch of new flights to Cartagena, Colombia from Toronto on December 18.
The carrier will operate the service using Airbus A319-100 aircraft, equipped with 14 seats in business class and 106 seats in economy. Business-class seats are 21.1” wide and have a pitch of 38”-39”.

At Least 3 People Killed, Scores Injured in Amtrak Derailment Near Tacoma

At least three people were reported killed and dozens injured Monday in the aftermath of an Amtrak train derailment outside Tacoma, Washington.
The derailment occurred on the first day of the train’s new route, from Seattle, to Portland.
There were 77 passengers and seven crewmembers reported on board the train, which careened off a bridge and onto a highway below.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it will investigate the incident.
