Avianca, TACA Airlines, and Copa Airlines have officially joined the Star Alliance.
Avianca and TACA Airlines are among the leading airlines in Central America, and Copa Airlines is Panama’s flag carrier. By joining the Star Alliance, their passengers can now access the 28 carrier network that flies 21,500 flights a day.

Omni Hotels & Resorts has finished a full renovation of the luxury suites at its Omni Austin Hotel.
The renovation updated the hotel’s nearly 400 suites that are located on the top floors and accessed through separate elevators. Rooms now offer hardwood floors, driftwood accents, and barn doors inspired by Texas culture.

Morgans Hotel Group, a New York-based hotel management company, has announced it will open two locations in Marrakesh, Morocco within the next year.

KLM Operates Longest Ever Biofuel Flight

KLM operated the longest ever biofuel flight on June 20, flying a Boeing 777-200 from Amsterdam to Rio de Janeiro. In 2011, KLM also operated the first-ever commercial biofuel flight.
The 777-200 is partly fueled by sustainable fuel derived from used cooking oil. The carrier plans to operate some of their flights on this fuel, and plans to partner with other companies to expand the program.
