Theatergoers Evacuated from ‘Jagged Little Pill’ on Broadway

A performance of the new musical “Jagged Little Pill” on Broadway was interrupted after a patron apparently released pepper spray in the theater.
Police and firefighters evacuated patrons from the historic Broadhurst Theatre in the theater district on Saturday after several people were seen standing up and coughing.
The show was in its second act during a matinee performance when the incident happened.
The show’s producers termed the incident an accident.

Avis Budget Group announced the appointment of Bernardo Hees to the company’s board of directors on Monday.  Mr. Hees was named chairman of the board and chairman of the board’s executive committee.
Hees previously served as CEO of Kraft Heinz, Burger King Worldwide Holdings, and America Latina Logisitca.  He succeeds the current chairman, Leonard Coleman, who will continue as a director.

T-Mobile and Sprint to Verify Calls Between Their Networks to Fight Robocalls and Scammers

T-Mobile USA and Sprint announced that the two mobile operators are working together to implement fraud-prevention technology between their networks that will prevent mobile subscribers from receiving calls from spoofed numbers as well as from robocallers.
Calls placed on the T-Mobile network to a Sprint subscriber and vice versa will be verified to ensure the number is not spoofed.

Coronavirus Update: 14,000 Cases, First Death from Virus Outside China, France Repatriates EU Citizens from Wuhan

The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus is now up to 14,380 as of Sunday, according to officials in China.  The figure grew by over 2,000 in the past 24 hours.  At least 305 have died from the virus and the first death from the virus outside China was reported.

Starbucks announced it had temporarily closed over half of its locations in China, as concerns over the growing number of coronavirus cases grew.

American, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental, Marriott, Southwest, United Earn Top Rating in LGBT Workplace Equality Index

American Airlines, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, Marriott International, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines all earned the top rating of 100% from the Human Rights Campaign’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index, which was announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The index rates companies on their non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, their public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and what the HRC calls “responsible citizenship.”
