United Opens New United Club at Newark Airport, Lounge is Airline’s Largest
United Airlines announced the opening of its latest United Club lounge, the largest in its system.
Located at Newark Liberty International Airport, the new 30,000-square -foot (2,782-square-meter) lounge accomodates almost 500 people.
Amenities include shower suites and a barista-staffed coffee bar as well as superb views of the Manhattan skyline. The furniture was locally sourced from the New York metropolitan area.
The Chicago-based carrier said that its passengers were foremost in its thinking when planning the new lounge.
The new United Club was “carefully designed with the customer at the forefront with thoughtful touches like murals and décor that reflect the local community,” said Aaron McMillan, the airline’s managing director of hospitality. “This design theme and commitment to creating a locally-inspired experience will set the precedent for future club openings and renovations across our network.”
The lounge offers multiple presentations such as breakfast, which includes bagels and scrambled eggs, and snacks as well as noshes later in the day.
Located in Newark’s Terminal C near Gate C123 after security, the new lounge reflects what the airline termed “a modern take on the United Club experience.” The lounge’s design and color scheme will be used in future new lounges as well as those undergoing refurbishment.
