Amtrak’s Metropolitan Lounge at Moynihan Train Hall

Amtrak, the nation’s passenger rail carrier, announced the start of food and beverage service in the Metropolitan Lounge that opened last year at New York’s Moynihan Train Hall.

Moynihan Train Hall is an expansion of Pennsylvania Station, the main intercity and commuter rail station in the Big Apple.  It is located in the historic James A. Farley Building that was designed by McKim, Mead, and White, the same architects who designed the original Penn station.

The bar features a variety of seasonal beer selections from New York State breweries as well as wine, cocktails, and a variety of entrées, all available for purchase.

The beer menu features a rotating selection from breweries that include Brooklyn Brewery, Empire Brewing Company, Five Boroughs Brewing, Ithaca Beer Company, and Montauk Brewing Company.

The lounge offers a variety of complimentary snacks including sandwiches, fruit salad, and yogurt parfaits in addition to a coffee menu that includes espresso, cappuccino, and americano drinks.

Access to the Metropolitan Lounge is available to Guest Rewards, Select Executive, and Select Plus members, among others and day passes are also available.

The lounge is open daily, with longer hours on weekdays, which start at 5 a.m. Lounge attendants are available to help with passenger questions and reservations and Red Cap service is also provided.
