At what’s become the company’s annual virtual product launch, Apple introduced several new iPhones and a new Apple Watch.

While Apple CEO Tim Cook last year was able to welcome the line of high-speed, 5G-capable iPhones and a new design, this year’s batch of iPhones has a more vibrant screen, improved cameras, faster microprocessors, and a larger, longer-lasting battery as well as the new A15 Bionic microprocessor.

The Apple Watch 7 has a display that’s 20% larger than its predecessor as well as softer corners, yet it still features the same 18-hour battery life.

Apple said that the standard iPhone 13 will get 2.5 hours longer battery life compared with the standard iPhone 12, for example. That phone along with the iPhone 13 mini have been redesigned and come in five colors featuring a flat-edge design and an aluminum frame.

The flagship iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feature a new Super Retina XDR display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.  The camera’s capabilities have been greatly enhanced and features include support for macro photography when using the ultra-wide lens and up to 2.2 times improved low-light performance in wide mode. A new Cinematic mode is available when shooting video, offering depth-of-field transitions, macro video and improved low-light performance.

Prices start at $699 for the iPhone 12 Mini, while the iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999.  The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are available in four stainless steel finishes in graphite, silver, gold, and the all-new sierra blue.

Finally, Apple announced an update to its lower-end iPad tablets, introducing a new iPad and iPad Mini.  The new iPads will be priced at $329 and $499, respectively.
