An unruly and homophobic passenger was escorted off an American Airlines flight to Dallas from Orlando was removed from the plane along with her small children after refusing to comply with airline safety regulations and federal face mask requirements.

Kelci Dunavin Cashman, a Dallas-area real estate broker, hurled homophobic epithets at multiple passengers and flight attendants, requiring the aircraft to return to the gate.  She was holding a small child in her arms while doing so as well as some of her children’s toys, and two other of her children were seen exiting the aircraft as well.

“No one wants to listen to your bigotry, get off the plane,” one passenger told her.

As she exited, passengers broke into loud applause and cheers.  One shouted, “Bye, Felicia.”

The airline confirmed the incident in a statement.

“Before departure on June 12, American Airlines flight 462 with service from Orlando to Dallas Fort Worth returned to the gate at MCO after a group of passengers refused to comply with the federal mask mandate and became verbally abusive to team members and other customers,” it said.

“Law enforcement met the flight at the gate and the disruptive customers exited the aircraft.”

A spokesman for the airline said that the “individuals [involved in the incident]  were denied further travel.”
