United Airlines announced the addition of almost 150 new flights to what it termed “warm-weather cities” come winter.

The additions are part of the airline’s preparations for a return to normalcy in air travel.

“United has prepared for the return of air travel for more than a year, matching its flying schedule and aircraft availability to demand by maintaining close coordination between its network planning teams and the airline’s operating groups,” it said in a statement.

The Chicago-based carrier will add over 130 new flights from its hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and the New York metro area to cities that include Charleston, Fort Meyers, Key West, Las Vegas, and Savannah.  It is also adding additional flights from Cleveland to Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers.

In addition, the airline will increase operations to multiple cities in the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico by 30%.

The new seasonal flights will operate from November 2021 through March 2022.
