Amtrak, the operator of most of the United States’ passenger rail services, announced a sale on its private roomettes.

Roomettes are private compartments for two with large double-decker windows, comfortable seats that collapse into a bed, and a drop-down bed above the seats.  The Roomettes also include ample storage for luggage, outlets for charging, and some have a toilet.  All include fresh towels and linens, complimentary in-room meals served by a dedicated attendant, and access to the train’s showers, which is limited to those traveling in a roomette.

Passengers traveling in a roomette receive complimentary lounge access at major train stations and priority board.

“We want to offer our customers a truly unique way to see the country this summer,” said Roger Harris, the railroad’s executive vice president.

The sale is available for through April 16 on 15 routes across the Amtrak network for travel between June 1 and September 30, 2021.

The routes included on the sale include the Auto Train, California Zephyr, Capitol Limited, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, Coast Starlight, Crescent, Empire Builder, Lake Shore Limited, Northeast Regional, Silver Star, Silver Meteor, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited, and Texas Eagle.
