Austin Marriott Downtown Opens in Texas Capital
Marriott International announced the opening of the Austin Marriott Downtown on Friday.
The 31-story property is intended to represent a new look for Marriott Hotels, the company said. The design takes inspiration from materials endemic to Austin, including limestone and Texas Cedar, and it was designed to support the needs for social distancing when meeting friends and colleagues.
“Spaces and amenities are crafted to allow guests to achieve moments of creative brilliance,” Marriott said in a statement.
Guest rooms, which start on the seventh floor, offer views of Lady Bird Lake, the Austin skyline, and the University of Texas campus.
Guest dining options include Zanzibar, a rooftop terrace with a pool whose offerings include tiki cocktails; Corinne Restaurant offers regional dishes as well as American comfort foods; the Lobbyist is a two-story cocktail bar which overlooks the hotel lobby; and Loaf + Vine is a grab-and-go grocery which offers baked items, coffee, and complete meals.
