WestJet announced the appointment of Dr. Tammy McKnight as its chief medical officer, a new position.
The position will see Dr. McKnight develop new initiatives to protect the health of the carrier’s passengers.
“Dr. McKnight is a highly accomplished, forward-thinking leader with demonstrated success in aviation, occupational and emergency medicine, and will be a valuable addition to the team,” said Mark Porter, the airline’s executive vice-president of people and culture.
Dr. McKnight was previously the medical director for AirSprint, an aviation company. She studied medicine at the University of Calgary and, prior to that, studied pharmacy at the University of Alberta.
