American Airlines to Offer New Premium Transcon Service to Orange County from JFK
American Airlines announced plans to offer premium transcon service between New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.
The airline will operate the new service using its Airbus A321T subfleet.
The A321T has ten suites in the first-class cabin, 20 lie-flat seats in business, 36 seats in its premium economy lite section, and 36 seats in coach.
In first, the ten fully lie-flat seats are in a 1-1 configuratio, which lends an extremely private feel to each seat. The 21.5”-wide seat extends into a bed with a length of approximately 82.5”.
The 20 lie-flat seats in the business-class cabin are in a 2-2 configuration. Each seat has a width of 18.5” and a length of 75” to 78”. The aircraft has 36 seats in a 3-3 configuration in its Main Cabin Extra premium economy lite cabin. Seats there are up to 17.7” in width and have a seat pitch of 35”. There are also 36 seats in coach.
