Rosewood Hotels and Resorts said it will open a new property in Rome in 2023.

Located in the center of the city on the celebrated Via Veneto, one of the city’s most well known streets, the Rosewood Rome will occupy the previous headquarters of the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Italy’s sixth largest bank, as well as two other historic buildings .

Each of the three buildings dates back to the start of the twentieth century.  The former Banca Nazionale del Lavoro headquarters building was designed by the Italian architect Marcello Piacentini, and the final result, the hotel said, will be “an exemplar of modernist Italian architecture.”

Banca Nazionale del Lavoro is the country’s sixth largest bank and has been a subsidiary of the French banking group BNP Paribas since 2006.

The property will have 157 guestrooms, including 44 suites. The decor will be a mix of traditional Italian architecture and modern décor, the hotel said.

Guests will be able to choose from three dining options. This will include an Italian bistro, a lobby café and bar, and a rooftop bar.

The hotel will offer amenities such as an underground Roman bath, a 4-room rooftop spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop terrace and pool.

Rosewood Hotels and Resorts currently operates 11 properties in Europe. This will be its fourth in Italy.
