CNN announced it will shut down its Airport network, which was launched in 1991, and is found in the gate areas and lounges in most major airports in the United States.

The network is a victim of the coronavirus pandemic-induced decline in travel over the past year.

CNN Airport is a U.S.-based out-of-home network that broadcasts news, weather, sports, stock market updates, and travel content to airports across the country.

The news was announced by CNN President Jeff Zucker.

“Having to say goodbye to such a beloved brand is not easy. I want to thank our friends and colleagues who have contributed to its success,” said Zucker in announcing the move.

CNN Airport will end operations on March 31.
