Marriott to Offer Covid-19 Testing and Health Screening Options for Meetings and Events

Marriott International said it will begin to offer Covid-19 testing as well as procedures to stem the potential spread of the coronavirus at a meeting at some of its properties hotels.

The move will expand upon the hotelier’s Connect with Confidence initiative, which helps meeting professionals design and execute events that will keep their attendees safe.

In addition to coronavirus testing, Marriott will also offer optional daily temperature checks as well as daily and pre-arrival health screening questions via mobile application. In addition, attendees will be given the option of a self-administered Covid-19 test prior to arrival.

These new pandemic-related options will supplement Marriott’s Global Cleanliness Council and its Commitment to Clean statement announced earlier this year which introduced face covering requirements, social distancing policies, cleaning standards, and reduced seating capacity for meetings.

Gaylord Hotels, the largest hotel convention brand in Marriott’s stable, will be the first to offer these services. The new protocols and procedures will be available at the Florida, Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado locations starting in January.
