Hawaiian Airlines announced it would offer an addition Covid-19 test option to travelers.

Starting Thursday, individuals traveling to the state from the U.S. mainland can take an at-home Covid-19 saliva test.  The mail-in test is administered through Vault Health, a health education company that pivoted into coronavirus testing with the start of the pandemic.

The cost of the teset will be $150 and the collection process will be supervised by a test monitor using a video link.  The test kit is sent via overnight express courier, included in the price, by the traveler to the lab. Results are available within 24 hours.

The move is in addition to the drive-through tests at Los Angeles International and San Francisco International airports that the carrier announced on September 25.  Those tests will begin to be offered on October 15, 2020.
