GM Picks Current Delta CFO as new Chief Financial Officer

General Motors announced the appointment of Paul Jacobson to the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer.  The appointment is effective December 1, 2020.

Mr. Jacobson is currently the chief financial officer at Delta Air Lines, the world’s second largest airline by passengers carried, and has been with the carrier for 23 years. He will report to General Motors CEO Mary Barra.

“Paul… is dedicated to leading the company for the benefit of all stakeholders –customers, employees, suppliers, communities and shareholders,” said Ms. Barra in a statement.

The new CFO joined Delta in 2012 as a financial analyst in 1997 and has held several positions there including senior vice president and treasurer. He graduated from Auburn University in 1994 with a degree in aviation management and later received a master’s in business administration from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
