Delta Air Lines unveiled a status match program that offers travelers temporary elite status in its SkyMiles frequent-flyer program at one rung higher than what they currently have with a competitor, along with an expedited path to keeping that status through January 31, 2022.

The temporary status will last through March 31, 2021 and enrollment is required by October 31, 2020.

The offer is valid for those with status with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, or United Airlines.

To maintain SkyMiles Gold Medallion status beyond March 31, four one-way filghts would be necessary, while Platinum Medallion status would require eight one-way flights and Diamond would require 12.

The offer is only for members “who receive this offer” from Delta, the airline said.
